A performance about the exhilarating power of (re)creation. Seven dancers inherit the fractures of a disintegrating world, held by its last horizon – a single strip of light in a space that has lost its edges. Then they claim a white canvas, a blank page, to craft another.
After After sets a double meaning in motion: re‑creation (the deliberate act of making anew) and recreation (leisure and play). This fertile duality fuels the work as it confronts an era that feels spent and near – if not past – its limits. What if the after is already here? As systems of relentless extraction exhaust people and planet, that question is our chance to rewrite the rules. Can recreation, forged by the labour of re‑creating, build our language for what’s next?
After After makes this speculation physical. The body becomes the narrator in an exploration of how making anew can open onto communal joy.
First: unmaking. The performance chooses an ending before it chooses a beginning. The horizon turns.
Polyphony takes the stage. Bringing together their individual voices and ways of moving, the dancers create a sensual, euphoric playground. Frame by frame, they fold care into their collective agency. Here, touch is a public, radical practice; gestures become repair. Call it the faultline effect: each slight shift in weight, attention or glance releases force. The game changes. With increasing fluidity, they alchemize across styles. And the performance erupts with fiery energy.
A cathartic dance at the crossroads of time.
