After After

A performance about the exhilarating power of (re)creation. Seven dancers carry the fractures of a world coming undone, held together by its last horizon — a single strip of light in a space without edges. Then they claim a white canvas: a blank page on which to craft something new.

After After sets a double meaning in motion: re-creation as making anew, recreation as pleasure and play. In the dancers’ bodies, the two merge. As the old story of progress and endless growth reaches its limit, the work asks what it means to move as if another world were possible. What if the after is not a future to wait for, but something to rehearse?

But first: unmaking. The work places an ending before the beginning. There, the horizon tilts.

The rules of the game change. Polyphony takes the stage. With their individual voices and ways of moving, the dancers create a sensual, euphoric playground. Frame by frame, care takes form as a way of being together. Touch becomes a public, radical act; movement becomes repair. Each subtle shift of weight, attention or gaze releases force. Styles flow into one another, and the performance gathers heat until it erupts in a blaze of energy.

A cathartic dance at the turn of an age.
